Vapi, Retell AI, Bland AI and Vertical AI side by side

Vapi, Retell and Bland sell a platform you build on. Vertical AI builds the agent, runs it and answers for it, so the table sets a do-it-yourself price beside a managed one.

Read from vapi.ai/pricing, retellai.com/pricing, bland.ai/pricing and each vendor's phone number docs on 14 October 2026. Vertical AI read from verticalai.com.au/pricing and /security on the same day.

The table converts each US dollar price at the Reserve Bank rate of 0.7002 for 14 October 2026. The developer platforms add carrier charges and exclude your own build time, so their figures are the floor.

Where Vapi, Retell AI or Bland AI is the better choice

Pick Vapi or Retell if you have a developer and want the lowest price per minute. At 1,000 minutes both cost less than a third of our Growth plan on the low configuration.

Pick Retell if you need many calls at once. It includes 20 concurrent calls free, against 6 on our Growth plan, and charges USD 8 a month for each one past that.

Pick Vapi if you need HIPAA cover for United States patients, which it sells for USD 2,000 a month, or if you want to choose every model and voice provider yourself. We offer no HIPAA cover.

Pick Bland on Build if you run outbound campaigns at volume. It allows 2,000 calls a day and 50 at once.

Where Vertical AI is the better choice

Pick Vertical AI if you want an agent answering your line without hiring a developer. Our Launch build is A$2,490, live in 5 days, with 15 test calls and a pass report before go-live.

Pick Vertical AI if callers dial an Australian number. Every plan includes Australian numbers and 1300 numbers are available, while Vapi and Retell sell US numbers and send you to your own carrier for anything else.

Pick Vertical AI if call data has to stay onshore where it can. Our call servers run on Fly.io in Sydney, the default model runs on AWS Bedrock in Sydney, and transcripts rest in AWS ap-southeast-2.

Where each platform runs an Australian call

None of the three pricing pages names an Australian region, read 14 October 2026. Bland lists data residency on Enterprise without naming a region, and Vapi and Retell route calls through carriers such as Twilio and Telnyx.

A call from Sydney to a server in the United States crosses the Pacific in both directions on every turn of the conversation. Ask each vendor which region runs the call, the model and the stored transcript, and get it in writing.

Our /security page lists every vendor in our stack and where it runs. Telnyx, our carrier, and the default voice run in the United States, and speech recognition can move to Deepgram in Sydney.

Questions to settle before you build on a US platform

Get each answer below in writing before you sign a contract or put a number live.

  • Which region processes the call audio, the model request and the stored transcript.
  • Which carrier supplies your Australian number and what it charges a minute.
  • How many calls can run at once on your plan, and the price of each extra line.
  • Who fixes the agent when a model or voice provider changes its API.
  • Whether your call data is excluded from model training.
